 Terms of membership


The Leisure Club & Spa will be operated as a proprietary club owned by Airth Castle Ltd (the owner) and located at Airth Castle Hotel & Spa Resort.  The owner will administer the club.  The owner will solely determine the facilities of the Club.  The owner will solely determine all issues of membership of the club and use of its facilities by hotel guests.  


It is the aim of The Spa at Airth Castle to provide a pleasurable part of your leisure time.  To that end we have

put together some simple “terms of membership” which we hope will ensure all members are able to enjoy the  

club safely and without being inconvenienced.



  1. Members must present their membership card each time they visit the Club.  Hotel guests must present their hotel Key card.  The owner reserves the right to refuse entry without presentation of these items.
  2. Entry will be refused to anybody in the opinion of Management is under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  3. Appropriate clothing and footwear must be worn in the club.  Out door shoes must not be worn in the Gymnasium and swimming pool areas.  Swimming costumes must be worn in the pool, spa bath, sauna and steam rooms.  Swimsuits and exercise clothing with the exception of tracksuits may not be worn in the public areas of the Hotel.
  4. No animals are permitted in the club, other than guide dogs.
  5. The Club will open from 6.00am - 10pm - Monday to Friday and 7.00am - 10 pm Saturday & Sunday.  Last entry is 55 minutes before closing.  These hours may vary on Bank Holidays & over Christmas, New Year and Easter.
  6. The owner reserves the right to close the facilities without prior notice should the need arise. Whenever possible advanced warning will be given.
  7. Members may be accompanied by a maximum of two guests at any one visit, unless prior arrangements have been made with the Club Manager. 
  8. Only adult members are permitted to sign in guests.
  9. The owner reserves the right to refuse admission to any guests.
  10. The owner reserves the right to terminate membership without giving reason.


Health & Safety 


  1. Please shower before using the swimming pool, spa bath, sauna and steam room.
  2. Prior to using the gymnasium, a physical activity readiness questionnaire must be completed and signed. If you have answered yes to any of the questions asked, you will be referred to your general practitioner for clearance in writing (including G.P stamp) before gym use is permitted.
  3. In the sauna or steam room, reading, shaving or drying of clothing and towels are not permitted.
  4. Running, jumping, diving or any other activity that may cause harm or annoyance to pool users is not permitted in or around the pool area.
  5. Members must accept responsibility for their guests and must ensure that they abide by these terms of membership.  Members must be with their guests at all times.
  6. Food is not permitted on poolside or in the changing rooms.
  7. Glass & crockery are not permitted anywhere in the club other than in the reception/lounge area.
  8. Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the club and is restricted to the designated areas outside the hotel.
  9. Please ensure that you have read the pool rules signage before using the pool facilities.
  10. For your information; CCTV is in use within the Hotel and at the leisure club reception.




  1. An adult must accompany children under the age of 16 at all times within the leisure club.
  2. Children under the age of 16 are not permitted to use the gymnasium.
  3. Children under the age of 12 are not allowed to use the spa bath, sauna or steam room.
  4. There must be at least one adult to every two children under the age of sixteen entering the pool area, and there must be one adult to every one child under the age of five entering the pool area. All children must be supervised at all times whilst on the premises.
  5. There is no guest entry fee for children under the age of 5 years old.
  6. Children over the age of 5 must only use the changing room that is designated for their gender i.e. girls - females, boys - males.  If possible a family room may be provided for use.
  7. Children (under 16) must vacate the facilities by 8pm between Monday to Friday. Times for children are un-restricted Saturdays & Sundays.  




1.      The owner reserves the right to reject any application for membership without giving a reason.

2.      The club fees and tariffs shall be determined by the owner and may be altered at any time.  Members will be notified in advance of any changes.

3.      The owner reserves the right to suspend and/or terminate the membership of any member without notice in the event of a member committing a serious breach of the terms of membership.

4.      On cancellation, suspension or termination of membership no refund will be given.

5.      From the 1st January 2013 all memberships are subject to a 6 or 12  month contract. Should a membership be cancelled during this period the remaining balance must be paid in full.  If any monthly direct debit payment rejects then the entire balance of your membership fee will become payable.  Failure to comply may result in legal action. 

6.      All members who wish to cancel their membership after the initial 6 month period must do so in writing giving 1 calendar months notice.  Written notice of cancellation must be addressed to “The Spa Manager.”

7.      Membership cards are only for use by the member and are not transferable under any circumstances.


Other terms


1.      Mobile phones, electrical devices and other items likely to cause annoyance may not be used in the Club.

2.      Ball games and inflatable toys & rafts are not permitted in the pool unless incorporated into a child activity organised by the leisure club.

3.      Lockers should only be used for storage of personal belongings.

4.      Property is stored at the owners risk and the club will accept no liability for loss or damage.

5.      Lockers will be cleared every 24 hrs and all items removed.

6.      The owner reserves the right to dispose of any items not claimed within 4 weeks.

7.      The owner reserves the right to amend these terms at its absolute discretion. Notification of changes will be displayed.

8.      Membership discounts within the Grillroom restaurant, bar and spa are limited to 6 people.

9.      Discount is not applicable on set menu.

The Direct Debit Guarantee

  • This Guarantee is offered by all banks and building societies that take part in the Direct Debit Scheme. The efficiency and security of the Scheme is monitored and protected by your bank or building society.
  • If the amounts to be paid or the payment dates change, Airth Castle Hotel Ltd will notify you 10 working days in advance of your account being debited or as otherwise agreed.
  • If an error is made by Airth Castle Hotel Ltd or your bank or building society, you are guaranteed a full and immediate refund from your branch for the amount paid.
  • You can cancel a Direct Debit at any time by writing to your bank or building society. Please also send a copy of your letter to Airth Castle Hotel Ltd.
